Lesson Plans for Educators

In collaboration with the National Council for History Education, we are pleased to provide lesson plans designed for 6th–12th grade educators to use, adapt, and build upon in their classrooms. While curated for secondary students, many of the activities can also be scaffolded or modified for younger grades, allowing teachers to tailor the content to their students learning needs.

The curriculum is created to engage students during the commemoration of this important milestone as they explore our nation’s history and progress. Each lesson plan aligns with a corresponding module and offers a variety of activities and exercises that bring history to life and encourage students to imagine the next 250 years of America.

To access the lesson plans, begin by selecting one of the modules above, where the corresponding lesson plan can be freely downloaded.

If you use our lesson plans, we’d love to hear how they worked in your classroom! Contact us here.
