Mr. H. Gregory Platts

Gregory Platts is former Treasurer of the National Geographic Society where he was responsible for global investment and banking activities. He joined National Geographic in 1980 and has held posts of Vice President for Budget and Planning and Treasurer of the Society's Education Foundation. Prior to 1980, he was as an investment analyst and financial writer at Yale University and a trust officer at the Union Trust Company of Washington. He is a member of the CFA Institute and a former President of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts. Platts is past Chairman of the Board of the American Red Cross Blood Services - Chesapeake and Potomac Region. He has been a Trustee of Decatur House -- a National Trust historic property, St. Albans School, the National Presbyterian School, and the Westmoreland Congregational Church in Bethesda. He currently serves on the Boards of Chevy Chase Trust Company and ASB Capital Management in Maryland and as a Trustee of the Walter A. Bloedorn Foundation and the Hattie M. Strong Foundation in Washington.
