Congressman Tom Davis Joins CSPC Board of Counselors

Washington D.C. - The Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress (CSPC) is pleased to announce that Congressman Tom Davis has joined CSPC’s Board of Counselors.

Davis joins a distinguished group of Counselors chaired by the Honorable Norm Augustine (former Secretary of the Army and former Chairman & CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation).  Other CSPC Counselors include: Jonah Czerwinski (Ventures & Edge Technologies Lead – Booze Allen Hamilton); Susan Eisenhower (President of the Eisenhower Group, Inc.); the Honorable John Engler (former Governor of the State of Michigan); the Honorable Bart Gordon (former Chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Science and Technology); the Honorable Carla Hills (Chair & CEO of Hills & Co. and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development); and the Honorable William Webster (former Director of the FBI and former Director of the CIA).  A full list of CSPC Counselors, Trustees, and Senior Fellows can be found at

Davis was first elected to office in 1979, winning a hard-fought campaign to represent Mason District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. After the 2002 election, he was named the chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform and chaired hearings on the use of performance enhancing substances in professional sports.  Davis’ work included a report on the federal response to Hurricane Katrina; sponsorship of legislation giving the Food and Drug Administration authority to regulate tobacco; and passage of the National Capital Transportation Amendments Act, which authorizes capital reinvestment in the Washington Metro system, and reforms of the Postal System.

He currently serves on the Boards of the Partnership for Public Service, is Rector at George Mason University and is President of the Federal City Council, a Washington D.C. Business organization. Davis is a cum laude graduate of Amherst College and earned a JD degree at the University of Virginia Law School.  He is married to Jeannemarie Devolites Davis. Davis now serves as a Director for Deloitte & Touche in which he continues his effort to being effective, common sense solutions to government.
