CSPC Study on Second Presidential Terms Featured on CNN Gut Check Column
Submitted on May 14, 2013 in CSPC in the News
In CNN.com's May 14, 2013 Gut Check column, a CSPC case study on Presidential Second terms by political scientist John P. Burke was quoted on the effect of the three recent scandals (Benghazi, IRS, and the Associated Press) on Obama's second term agenda.
From the article: "A president's second term 'is likely to be an uphill road,' Burke writes, and one 'not particularly well marked for historical success.'
The issue for Obama, as is the case with most second term presidents, is the timing of such controversies. As Burke told Gut Check, Obama's power only wanes from this point on."
