The Honorable Thomas F. McLarty III has a distinguished record of business leadership and public service, including various roles advising three Presidents - Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, for whom he served as White House Chief of Staff, Counselor to the President, and Special Envoy for the Americas, with more than five years of service in the President's Cabinet and on the National Economic Council. Previously, McLarty was Chairman and CEO of Arkla, a Fortune 500 natural gas company with operations in 11 states. He currently serves as President of McLarty Associates, an international strategic advisory firm, and as Chairman of the McLarty Companies, a fourth-generation family transportation business with operations in the United States, Brazil, and China. Additionally, he serves as Board member and advisor to a number of private and nonprofit organizations, including Union Pacific, the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund, and the Council of the Americas, and is also a senior counselor to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a senior international fellow at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. McLarty has been honored with the highest civilian awards of seven Latin countries, as well as the U.S. Secretary of State's Distinguished Service Medal.
